What are you looking forward to? Catching up with your friends over the weekend? Finishing up final exams so you can start your vacation? Getting that dream job you've been hoping for?
We all have something we can look forward to. Unfortunately, many of us have let daily routines and pressures make every day seem like a grind and the future something to be wary of.
If you haven't figured this out already, living a happy and fulfilling life actually takes some work (but it's mostly fun work). The most useful step I've found is to make a master list of everything you want out of life. You might consider such things as places you'd like to visit, skills you want to acquire, experiences you'd like to have i.e. owning a home, becoming a mother etc. It can be as simple or extensive as you like; for the short term or long term. What's important is that you have a list that you can get to easily, whether it's on your computer, in your backpocket or hanging on the wall.
Don't worry about how you are going to achieve everything you've put on your list. Just by creating this list, you are planting the seeds of intention and activating your subconscious mind to be on the lookout for opportunities to make these intentions a reality. By making this list, you will know why you're putting in the hours at the office or studying late for an exam (when you could be out partying), why you're dealing with that customer who's a real jerk, why you want to work things out with your spouse.
Have fun with your list and let me know what you came up with.
