Top 5 Ways To Cheer Up and Get My Ex Back

So You've Just Broken Up.

If you're the one that's been dumped, you're probably in a great deal of sadness and pain, and wondering if you'll ever be able to get them to come back to you. They're not returning your calls or messages and you are going out of your mind trying to reach them. Before you totally ruin all chances of getting your ex back, cheer up and read this first:

1. UNDERSTAND HOW BREAKUPS AFFECT YOUR EMOTIONS
Panic, Chaos, Confusion. These are the typical emotions that you'll be experiencing after a breakup. Your first reaction if you're the one being dumped is to do anything and everything you can think of to try to get back together. Bad idea. Everything that we do at this point is driven by our need to lessen the pain of rejection and loss. Driving across country in baby diapers, making a sexy video when you've never made one, hurting yourself, buying a diamond ring etc. will only serve to confirm your nutcase status and push them further away.

2. MANAGE YOUR CONTACT WITH YOUR EX
If you want to get your ex back, you will need to manage your contact with them very carefully. Mostly because you are still a basketcase during this time (see #1). One voicemail/text message a week is reasonable, one voicemail/text message every hour is not. If you do connect over phone, set a time limit for the conversation and let them know you need to go once you reach it.

3. IMPROVE YOURSELF
What are you going to do during this time when your mind is going crazy thinking about your ex? You use it to improve yourself. Our health, diet and looks usually go down the toilet when we are going through a breakup. While it's healthy to cry to release all the emotions you're feeling, in between the crying sessions, you need to take advantage of your sanity and get some light exercise, eat some good food and get your hair done. You must do things that help move your self image and confidence beyond what it was before and to create a look that is different from what your ex has associated you with.

4. UNDERSTAND THE ISSUES THAT LED TO THE BREAKUP
While you are on this relationship holiday, take the time to understand the factors that led to the breakup. Men and women leave for different reasons. At it's core, men usually leave because they don't feel respected and admired anymore. Women leave because they don't feel appreciated and needed. All that yelling and screaming are just distractions from these inner issues. While you can't change other people's behavior, you can work on yours.

5. MEET OTHER PEOPLE
Just because you broke up doesn't mean you need to sit at home and be depressed. We all have the inner strength to pick ourselves up and engage the world even if we feel like crap inside. To get your ex back and to survive life in general, you must develop a certain level of acting skill. Go out, meet people, pretend to be happy. It will be great for your spirit and once your ex finds out you're having a great time, he/she will be very curious about this. You'll have a much higher chance of reuniting in that situation.
